Superb singer, song writer and musician Paul Young has enjoyed an illustrious career which has seen him front various bands, become a teen idol, enjoy chart success in the UK plus the USA and be invited to take part in the infamous 1985 Live Aid event held at Wembley Stadium, London. His achievements have seen him earn many awards including Best British Video for Everytime You Go Away in 1986.

Embrace the new year with his upcoming February tour which takes him to Manchester Academy 2, Norwich Waterfront and ULU Live At Student Central in London. Paul Young tickets are on sale right now so book yours before they are all gone!

Luton born, Young kicked off his career in music as the lead singer for band Kat Kool & The Kool Kats before moving on to Streetband who broke the Top 20 once with their novelty song Toast in the late seventies. Streetband would evolve into the band Q-Tips after recruiting additional members and many line-up changes and would receive press praise for their tracks SYSLJFM (The Letter Song) and Having A Party.

When Q-Tips split in 1982 Young was quickly signed by Columbia Records for a solo career and soon shot to #1 with his cover of Marvin Gaye’s Wherever I Lay My Hat, with follow up single Come Back And Say hitting #4 and the a re-release of the previously unsuccessful cover of John Hurley’s Love Of The Common People which hit #2 the second time around and enjoyed airplay in America.

His appeal lasted throughout the decade and beyond hitting #8 in the charts with his cover of Oh Girl by The Chi-Lites and performing before the England semi-final match against Germany during Euro 1996.
