Johnny Marr is the definitive indie guitarist. His signature jangly sound was a prominent feature of indie icons The Smiths, shaping the sound of British guitar music in their wake. The Manchester band was centred around the songwriting relationship between Morrissey and Marr, producing such smash-hit singles as “Ask”, "Panic", "This Charming Man" and "How Soon Is Now?".

The Smiths released four classic albums, including The Smiths (1984), Meat Is Murder (1985), The Queen Is Dead (1986) and Strangeways, Here We Come (1987).

Following The Smiths, Marr has embarked upon a solo career seeing the release of Top 10 albums The Messenger (2013), Playland (2014), Call the Comet (2018) and Fever Dreams Pts 1–4 (2022).

He has also worked with various groups including Electronic, The The, Modest Mouse and The Cribs.
